Privacy Policy
This page explains how GoSiam handles the data of its visitors. The site has no accounts, no forms, and no newsletters:you can browse the entire site without ever providing any personal information. The following describes the limited amount of data that is nevertheless collected, why it is collected, and how you can opt out.
What the site doesn't do
Registration is not available, and no forms are provided. No email addresses are collected, no advertising profiles are created, and no data is sold or shared with a data broker. The site does not display any advertisements.
Audience Measurement
What's Loaded
The site loads two tracking tools, and neither of them sets a cookie.
Cloudflare Web Analytics. This is what actually measures the site’s audience. It counts page views, visits, countries of origin, and referring sites. It does not set any cookies, does not store any visitor identifiers, and does not use browser fingerprinting: two consecutive visits cannot be linked to the same person, and nothing tracks a reader from one site to another.
Google Tag Manager (container GTM-KS3G7FR2), and through it, Google Analytics. The latter is currently set up but is not currently reporting any data, for the reason explained below. It is being kept in place because it will be needed if a consent screen is added in the future.
This step helps determine which pages to write and which ones to edit.
Why There Is No Cookie Banner
Because the site is configured not to set any tracking cookies. Google's consent mode is set to "declined" even before the container starts, which is the only setting that actually works: if the refusal is declared afterward, it comes too late, and the tags have already executed.
The practical result is that no tracking cookies are set, no visitor identifiers are stored, and two consecutive visits cannot be linked to the same person. Google receives only aggregated and anonymous data. A banner asking for permission to set cookies would therefore have nothing to ask for.
This default refusal has a known consequence, verified on August 23, 2026: the signals sent to Google are marked as “consent denied,” and Google does not include them in any reports. Google Analytics therefore shows nothing at all, and Cloudflare is the one measuring the audience. If a consent screen were ever added, this page would be modified before it.
Cookies Actually Placed
| Type | Filed? | Clarification |
|---|---|---|
| Audience Measurement Cookies | no | blocked by consent mode, which is set to "denied" by default |
| Advertising Cookies | no | No advertising agencies, no ad banners |
| Social Media Cookies | no | no third-party share buttons |
| Local browser storage | Not yet | A button is provided to save a consent selection, but there is currently no screen where users can express their consent: nothing is written there |
What Is Recorded Anyway
Non-identifying browsing data: the page you viewed, the page you came from, your approximate country, your device type, and your browser. Your IP address is processed by Cloudflare and Google to determine your country, but it is not retained in either company’s reports.
An event is also logged when you click on an affiliate link: the affiliate's name and the URL of the page from which the click originated, without any of your personal information. Without this, these clicks would go unnoticed, since affiliate links are redirects handled by the server.
Legal basis: the publisher's legitimate interest in understanding its website's audience, with this practice limited to anonymous statistics and involving neither cookies nor individual tracking.
Partner Links
Some links lead to partner sites (insurance companies, booking platforms) and generate a commission when a policy is purchased, at no additional cost to you. They go through an internal URL in the format /go/ which immediately redirects to the partner.
What happens next is no longer under this site’s control. The partner sets its own cookies and enforces its own privacy policy, which you should review on its website. GoSiam does not receive any personally identifiable information from the partner: it only knows that a subscription has taken place, but never who subscribed.
Hosting and Technical Logs
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. Like any hosting provider, Cloudflare maintains access logs containing, among other things, IP addresses, to ensure the proper functioning and security of the service, including protection against attacks. This processing is necessary for the provision of the website and constitutes a technical requirement of the hosting provider.
Transfers Outside the European Union
Google and Cloudflare are companies based in the United States, and their infrastructure is located in several countries. As a result, technical data is transferred outside the European Union. These transfers are based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and the data protection framework between the European Union and the United States, to which both companies adhere.
How long is the data retained?
Audience statistics are retained for up to fourteen months, a period that allows for comparisons between a given season and the same season in the previous year; beyond that point, they are no longer useful. The hosting provider’s technical logs follow Cloudflare’s specific retention policy.
Your Rights
The General Data Protection Regulation grants you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and object to the processing of your personal data. It is important to note here that, since the site does not store any visitor identifiers, there is no data associated with you that could be retrieved, disclosed to you, or deleted. Your right to object to this measure remains in full force and can be exercised directly in your browser.
Reject any measure
Blocking tracking scripts with a browser extension or enabling your browser's "Do Not Track" signal prevents the mechanism described above from working. The site functions normally without it.

Changes to This Policy
This policy describes how the site operates as of the date indicated below. It is updated whenever the tracking mechanism changes, particularly if a consent screen is added in the future: cookies would then be enabled for users who accept them, and this page would reflect that change.
